What is provided on board?


Each cruise comes with an exceptionally handsome and knowledgeable captain, a Bluetooth speaker, a cooler with ice and bottled water, and sunscreen.




Can we bring alcohol and food?


Yes! We are BYOB so please bring whatever food or beverages you'd like! We have teamed up with a local cheese shop, Grapes and Gourmet, so you can order a charcuterie board ahead of your trip.




Where do cruises depart from?


We are docked at 1 Goat Island, Newport, RI, at Gurney's Resort and Marina, and all cruises will depart from there. There is a free parking lot a short walk from the boat, and cars can also be valeted at the Gurney's entrance.




What is the cancellation policy?


You can cancel your charter for a full refund up 72 hours before your departure. If cancellation occurs between 72 hours and 24 hours, you are responsible for 50% of the charter cost. The full price of the charter will be charged if a cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the departure. All sales booked within 72 hours of departure are non-transferable and non-refundable. Customers receive a full refund if a cancellation occurs due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.




What happens if there is bad weather on the day of our charter?


Weather needs to be safe for all cruises, and we also want you to have the best experience with us. New England weather can be tricky at times, so you will receive a full refund if there is a weather-related cancelation. It is the Captain's call on the day of the charter.




How many people can we bring?


The Coast Guard sets the boat capacity; therefore, we will not be able to depart with more than 6 passengers. We also provide a captain and a first mate that do not count towards the total of 6.




How long is the trip?


Each cruise varies in time! Our most popular cruise is 1 hour and 45 minutes long, but we also offer half-day and full-day cruises. Our half-day cruise is 4 hours long, and the full-day cruise is 8 hours. We also charter special events that you can customize to your liking.




What do we need to bring?


We provide all that we can to make your trip as smooth, enjoyable, and memorable as possible. However, we recommend packing few things to make your experience even better:

  • Warm clothes such as a sweater/sweatshirt or blanket in case it gets a bit chilly
  • Snacks and beverages if you are not purchasing them on board




Are there life preservers on board?


We have one life preserver per guest, plus life preservers for children.




Do you have a bathroom?


We have a small head (or toilet) on board, but we recommend using the restroom before your cruise. There is a restroom conveniently located in the Gurney's Resort at the base of the dock. A member of the NCG team will meet you at the dock upon your arrival to show you around.




What time should we arrive?


Please plan to arrive at Gurney's Resort and Marina 15-30 minutes before your departure to allow for proper boarding.




What about COVID-19 safety?


Each cruise meets the Rhode Island COVID-19 requirements. The boat will be thoroughly disinfected between each cruise, and if guests feel more comfortable with our Captain wearing a mask for the duration of the trip, he can do so. However, our team is fully vaccinated, and the layout of the boat allows the Captain to be distanced from the guests for the majority of the trip.
